I was born in Cheshire and moved to Shrewsbury when I was four and progressed through my education in local schools and then to Birmingham polytechnic to complete my accountancy qualifications. I met my husband David on a student reunion and we have three children.

I gave up accountancy after my second child to help at Bowbrook House Care home in Shrewsbury which had been opened by my husband and his parents. When they retired I took over on a full time basis and took the relevant qualifications to be the registered manager.

David set up a construction company to build an extension at the home and also to carry out work for third parties. In 2010 we purchased Lady Forester Nursing home in Much Wenlock and have renovated and extended it to ensure it is fit for purpose.

In my spare time I enjoy walks with my family and our dogs. I spend time in Anglesey at our caravan and enjoy time on our small fishing boat. Until recently we went skiing a lot, the children really love it and are much better than me.

I have been on the board of Partners in Care since 2004 and have watched it mature and evolve into a professional and informative organisation which supports social care locally.
