Julie Claassen

Director

I left the Civil Service and founded Goodwood Homecare following a very challenging personal experience when trying to find suitable care for my mother. She developed severe Vascular Dementia and eventually required 24hr care. The ‘care’ we received for her in domiciliary and Residential areas was appalling. This resulted in me taking over the care of my mother and employing my own carers. I learnt so much from this experience, both best and worst practice, that I decided on a change of career and to utilise the excellent Team I had developed.

We are highly regarded and have close links throughout Shropshire with local professionals; GPs, Hospitals, District Nurses, Social Workers, Local Authority and Local Charities. Most of our work comes from recommendation and I believe this is due to the fact that my team and myself have care and empathy in our hearts and provide an excellent service with confidence.

We have built up relationships throughout Shropshire and are members of the Registered Managers Network, Storm Care managers Inner circle and of course Partners in Care who all have the highest quality of care as their main objective.

I am sure that I can add value to the support and representation of providers in Shropshire and assist in the aim to develop a high-quality social care workforce.
