Shona Holmes

Social Care Nurse Educator

Shona qualified as a registered nurse in 1983, with her initial work experience in acute/highly specialised settings within hospitals. She then went on to specialise in Community Nursing and has almost 30 years experience in this field, firstly working for Wolverhampton PCT as a District Nursing Sister and following on for Telford and Wrekin PCT from 2002 until 2021 with 13 years as a Community Nursing Caseload Holder.

Shona had 5 years experience in between Community Nursing working as a Nursing Sister in a Nursing Care Home where she had some involvement in assessing NVQ  levels 2 and 3 in health care. She retired from the NHS in 2021 but was compelled to apply for the role of Social Care Nurse Educator for Partners in Care as in her career she has witnessed the value of training and education for health care workers and the positive impact on patient experience and satisfaction for patients and the carers themselves.
