Care Quality Improvement Lead
Sophie joined Partners in Care in August 2022 as Clinical Practice Education Lead, working with care homes to reduce admissions to hospital.
She qualified as a nurse in 1986 and her early experience of HIV / AIDS nursing led her to move into health promotion / public health, to influence some of the determinants of health inequality. She spent 10 years working on sexual health / teenage pregnancy prevention projects, in Bristol and Shropshire, and has spent an additional 4 years working in Bangladesh (Concern Worldwide & UNICEF). Most recently she has been working in Shropshire both as a care home deputy manager and a community nurse within the South Shropshire NHS community team.
In addition to being a registered general nurse, she has a Master in Public Health, a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Promotion, a Level 3 Award in Education & Training and a Level 5 City & Guilds in Leadership for Heath & Social Care services.
