Training Officer, Partners in Care
Salary – £32,000 FTE pro rata (part-time, 30 hours per week over four working days £25,946)
Location – Hybrid, working at our offices at Partners in Care, 6 The Farriers Business Centre, Annscroft, Shrewsbury SY5 8AN with regular travel across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Cheshire, and from home.
The role
This is an exciting time to join Partners in Care, the care association for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Cheshire, with social care in the spotlight both nationally and locally. We are a not-for-profit organisation representing approximately 280 independent care/nursing homes, supported living and domiciliary care providers mainly in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and we are expanding our services into Cheshire. We are the local voice for the independent adult social care sector and offer a wide range of services for care providers including training, a Disclosure and Barring Service and a wide range of workforce initiatives.
We are seeking a Training Officer to join our team. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a varied programme of training to the health and care sector and associated organisations, to support compliance with their statutory health and safety requirements including Moving and Handling of People (Essential) and First Aid (Desirable). You will be responsible for designing and delivering training courses including facilitating meetings with providers to update best practice.
You will be based at Partners in Care’s offices in Annscroft (5 miles south of Shrewsbury) and will spend a considerable part of the time working mainly across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin and occasionally in Cheshire in health and social care settings. You will, therefore, need to have a car available for business use or be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
About you
You will have: relevant qualifications to deliver Moving and Handling of People and First Aid training; effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentational); effective interpersonal and influencing skills; experience of organising and delivering training programmes; and the ability to prioritise workload and schedule activities. You will also have experience of managing staff as you will be line managing our Casual Moving and Handling Training Officer(s). A teaching qualification would be an advantage.
