Who is the course aimed at?

As an annual refresher for anyone who has a current Emergency First Aid Certificate or anyone wanting to learn basic lifesaving skills.

To successfully complete the course and be awarded a certificate, participants will need to be able to work at floor level and successfully demonstrate placing a simulated casualty into an effective recovery position, and at least two minutes of CPR, in accordance with guidelines issued by the Resuscitation Council of the United Kingdom.

What does this course cover?

  • Incident / accident management
  • Manage a casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally, including a practical demonstration of the recovery position
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally, including a practical demonstration of CPR and the use of a defibrillator
  • Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • Manage a casualty who is in shock

We can also deliver this course at your location if you have suitable facilities.  We just need a ventilated, reasonably quiet space with sufficient room to carry out the practical, floor-based activities and access for our trainer to park and carry in their equipment.  Please contact us if you would like more information.
