Course Aims:
The course addresses privacy and dignity and how these can be respected and protected within adult social care.
The course content will cover the learning elements of the Care Certificate Standard 7: Privacy and dignity.
  • Learning Objectives: By the end of the session learners will be able to
  • Define the terms privacy and dignity
  • Describe the principles that underpin privacy and dignity in care
  • Explain how to maintain the privacy and dignity of individuals being supported
  • State the '10 Dignity Do's'
  • Identify how to apply the principles of privacy and dignity in your role
  • Explain how you can work in a way that promotes dignity and respect
  • State how to support individuals to make choices about their care 
  • Explain how to support active participation
  • Identify areas in your workplace where privacy and dignity could be developed
  • Summarise how promoting dignity and respect will improve the experience of adults
