Karen Fearns-Williams

Director

I was born and raised in Ealing, West London, where I studied at St Annes Convent School, also the school of Dusty Springfield (for those who are old enough to know who she was!). My family then moved to Southport where I began my career as a Recruitment Consultant working in Liverpool for a number of years.

I eventually moved to Shropshire after meeting my late husband, Pete, who was from the area. My career then moved into the Healthcare sector where I worked as a Business Development Manager and worked extensively with NHS Wales as a supplier on their Provider Framework as well as other ICBs across England.

I took a break from the corporate world to set up my own Housekeeping and Home Help business which I ran successfully for a number of years covering the Telford and Shropshire area. At our peak we had just over 240 clients. After we sold the business I returned to the corporate world and worked as a Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland, for a provider of equipment and consumables to oncology treatment Centres both NHS and private facilities and went on to become an Area Manager for a private radiotherapy and chemotherapy provider.

Most recently I have worked in the mental health, brain injury and learning disability sectors of Healthcare as Head of Service and Business Development with secure mental health services, rehabilitation, residential care and now in the area of specialist complex care in the home.

Having worked closely with major trauma centres and hospitals in the NHS, private Healthcare providers and on a daily basis with ICBs and Social Care, coupled with my background of running my own successful business, I feel that this experience and knowledge will be invaluable to support our Members and the Board of Partners in Care.

I understand the pressures of running a business and growing business within the Healthcare sector and the constraints that working with Social Care and NHS budgeted funds can bring to a provider in the sector.

I am passionate about our work and how we all work to improve the lives of people in need of all the services that collectively we provide. I am also passionate about our sector being supported and valued.
