Who is the course aimed at?
This 4-day Moving & Handling Train the Trainer programme is designed for experienced and senior staff working within adult social care who are responsible for delivering Moving & Handling training within their own organisation. The programme combines the knowledge and practical skills required to promote safe, person-centred moving and handling practice with the confidence to plan, deliver and assess effective training. Learners will be equipped to support colleagues in developing safe working practices that promote wellbeing, dignity and independence. Following successful completion, learners will be able to deliver Moving & Handling training using the training resources provided by Partners in Care and train employees within their own workplace.
To maintain competence and ensure training remains current and effective, trainers are expected to complete a minimum of 6 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Moving & Handling each year.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Learners must be appropriately dressed to attend Moving & Handling training. Clothing should be comfortable and allow freedom of movement during practical activities. Short skirts and restrictive clothing should be avoided. Open-toed footwear must not be worn due to the risk of foot injury.
