Partners in Care has been awarded grant funding of £75,000 from the Legal & General Health Equity Fund for a new project to upskill care staff on the benefits of healthy eating and healthy meal planning on a budget.
Partners in Care will be working closely with Shropshire Council, Telford & Wrekin Council and other partners to deliver the project over the next 12-18 months. The project aligns with the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ‘Get Yourself Active’ project which is delivering training offer for the local health and social care workforce and physical activity providers focused on increasing movement and activity, particularly among residents living with a disability.
Legal & General has a long track record of investing in health equity and addressing the social determinants of health through direct investments, stewardship, high-calibre academic and public sector partnerships, and using its role as an investor to positively influence peers.
Partners in Care’s grant is one of 43 grants awarded to a range of applicants across the UK.
David Crosby, Chief Officer for Partners in Care, said: “We are delighted to receive this investment from Legal & General Health Equity Fund to enable us to support care staff in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin on the benefits of healthy eating and healthy meal planning on a budget. We hope that this project makes a real and lasting difference to the local care workforce and the clients they support.”.
